Placements, in the three offices totalled 675 for the monith, which compares to a total of 496 placements' dur- ing December. The majority of clients:were registered in Material-Ilandling and Re- lated'; Product Fabricating: Assembling and, Repairing;» Construction Trades and Transport Equipment Operating. During January, the gr.eatest employment opportunities existed in Community, Business and Personal' Ser'vice; Trade; Transportation, Commun- ication and other Utilities; and Manufacturing. In January, there were 38, agreements signed under the, Canada .Manpower indus- trial Training Program. As a result, 48 people will benefit from both training and employment in the Region of Durham., At the end of January, there were 308 students in the skill courses sponsored by the Canada Employment Centre and 60 peo' ple re- ceiving academic upgrading at Durham College.
