He is a graduate of the Univertsity of Toronto and * Osgoode Hall Law School and bas practiced law in Whitby for 10 years. He attended Whitby District Higli School (now Henry High) and was chosen * as valedictorian of his graduatmng class. From 1961 to 1964 he at- tended York College of the University of Toronto and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He received his LLB degree from Osgoode Hall Law Sehool in 1967, and was, called to the Bar on March. 21, 1969. He grad- uated in the top 10 per cent of his Bar Admission class at Osgoode Hall, in 1969. From 1971 to date he bas been an active member of the Legal Aid Area Committee. Mr. Schilling has also been, an active member of the Ontario County (now Durham Region) Law Association, and in 1978-79 is a director and chairman of the pro- ceedure committee. Mr. Schilling bas been involved in many commun- ity organizations during the past 10 years. From,1969 to 1972 he was a director of the Whitby Chamber of Commerce. From 1971, to 1974, Mr. Schilling was a director of the Whitby Historical Society. From 1971 to 1976 he was chairman of the Whitby chapter of the Ontario Heart Foundation. In 1973-74 he was chairman of the Peter Perry Award Committee of the ChamblBr of Commerce. Since 1969, Mr. Schilling has *been a member of the Whitby Rotary club and is active on several committees..- From 1975 to 1977 he was President of Whitby Arts Inc., and was awarded an honorary life membership in 1977. He is presently active as past president and board member of Whitby Arts. From 1973 to 1975, he was active with . the Pickering Rod and Gun Club during the summer months.
