BOARD 0F MANAGEMENT WHITBY CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT IMPROVEMENT ARIA COMMIlEE SURVEY The B3oard of Management for the Whitby Central Business District Improvement Area Commnittee was created in 1978 through a by-law. This Commîttee is responsible f'or administering funds to promote the design ated redevelopment area of the business district. These funds are raised by a special assessment on business within the redevelopment a rea. The Board of Management would like to know how you would like their funds used. A total of $1000O is to be made available in 1978 to promote the redevelopment area. Since the Board is using private funds, we would like to offer you some input on how we administer thesc funds. Sînce the Board was formed, the Ministry of Housing has instituted the Main Revitalization Program, its objectives being to encourage and support downtown improvement projects by municipalities a nd business improvement areas; to encourage to co-ordination and joint planning of comprehiensive downtown iniprovement projects by, the municipality, businessmen and the community at large; to support the existance of viable and attractive downtowni areas in small Onta rio communities. -The Board feels that we should investigate further obtaining funds from the Ministry of Housing for capital projects within the redevelopment area, which would involve us in an extended term'committment while retaining the same assessment as is presently in force. For any further information, please phone 668-1221. John J. Roberts Chairman Board -of Management * OMQESTIONNAIREI 1.
