West NDP Riding Association is still wait- ing for a response regarding the teacher hiring guidelines from Durham Board of Edu- cation trustees serving Picker- ing, Ajax and Whitby. On Feb. 22 the following letter was sent to each of the trustees serving the Durham West area: "'At the Febusary 20 meet- ing of the Durham West NDP- Riding Association, a motion was passed unanîmously sup- porting teachers of the Dur- ham Board in the fight against the hiring guidelines recently, adopted by the Durham Board of Educàtion!" "The e xecutive was instruc- ted by the membership to write to ail trustees serving the Durham West area to express our opposition to the hiring guidelines and to seek an ex- planation for each trustee's support for the guidelines."
