F LL FEST Whitby's third annual Fal Fest will be lwld at the Iroquois Park Arena the evening of Sept. 17. Organized by the recreation departmeflt of the Town of Whitby and the Lions Club, it will feature food, refresh- mients and live entertainment. Tickets are $1.50 in advance by caling 668-7765 or $2 at the door. The fal fest begins at 6 p.m. and continues to 1 a.m., with proceeds going towards commuriitv projects. ENGLISH CLASSES FOR NEW CANADIANS English classes for new Canadians will begin Tuesdhiy September 20 at St. Mark's Church House at Byron and Coiborne Streets. The classes, jointly sponsored by the Ontario Ministry of Culture, and Recreation and the Dur- ham Board of Education, are on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons- from 1:*30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and are free to anyone who wants to learn or improve their English. COUNTRY AUCTION AND BAKEÉ SALE Whitby Arts Incorporatcd will- be holding a Country Auction and Bake Sale Oct. 1 at 12:30 p.m. at the Station Gallery, Victoria and Henry Streets. Viewing of the items for sale begins at 11:30 a.m. Anyone who has old or new collectables' may cal Susan Muir, 668-8967, Sydney Lang, 668-8041, or the gallery, 668-4185, to make donations for the auction and sale.
