Juvénile girls team defeated m ifinals Whitby Firefighters Juvenile girls softball team was defeat- ed in the Ontario finals of the P.W.S.A. playoffs Juvenile "CC" division following two loses last weekend. Whitby was defeated by Camnbridge September 3 in Whitby 1 5-6. Eleven walks and 5 errors contributed to tie loss. Whitby loaded the bases on 3 occasions without souting a run. On Monday September 5 in Canibridge, Whitby was outclassed 14-2 being eliminat- ed from the finals. The firefighters rebounded from the loss by eliminating Oshawa Crane Service 2 games to none in the Lakeshore Juvenile League semni-finals. Winning pitcher- was Sue Dusomne who also went 4 for 4 at the plate. Marg Fraser played a strong game going 3 for 3 with a walk. Other hitters were Laurie Ferguison a nd Heather Brear with 2 singles each, Darla Gange mi with a double and Pat La urie, Cathy Brown and Oksana Bartkiw with 1 hit each. Whitby Firefighters now advance to the Lakeshore Lecague finals against Oshawa Sharnrocks.
