In February l9ý4 more than 200 Whitby citizens turned out to honor him at a testimonial evening held at Heydenshore Pavilion, and a street was named after Mr. Pilkington in the Bradley Farm subdivision. Mr. Pilkington and bis wife Diana lived at Holly Farm on the third concession until the end of June, 1976,when they returned to Toronto because of the pressure of commuting every day to his 'job at the LLBO. After he left Whitby, Mr. Pilkington presented the town counicil with a rare numbered print commemnorating the Centennial of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, entitled "Northern Patrol". This print had hung in his office when he was police chief. One of Mr. Pilkington's last public appearances in Whitby was to attend the opening of the new municipal building, Jan. 8, 1977. Mr. Pilkington is survived by hiswife, the former Diana Clifford, his mother, Mrs. Emily Pilkington; two sisters, Mrs . Doris Gayel of Vancou- ver and Mrs. D' J. The boat was met by Harbor Master Vernon MacCarl and Development Co-ordinator Forbes McEwen.
