WHITBY FREE PRESS, WEDNESDAY, Carnival Qucen chosen'I MARCH 2,1977, PAGE3 MacIntosh KIM LINTNER RECEIVES, TROPI] Cable TV Pine Ridge Cable TV has announced major channel changes on its basic service offering to the residents in Whidtby and Brooklin . Effective Monday, Feb- ruary 28th, several channels were relocated in a new allocation of channels on the system. The Canadian R.idio - Television and Telecom- munications Commission, which regulates -the Cable TV industry, is attemrpting to standardize mnany channel allocations throughout the province. Some changes were re- quired in order to enlarge the Pine Ridge system. A recent decision by the CRTC allows Pine Ridge to carry channel 13 WOKR-TV Rochester on its converter service. This addition makes Pîne Ridge Cable TV one of the few cable TV systemrs in the province tha t carnies duplicate American networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) on _its converter service, as well as on its basic service. Tlhe Pine Ridge Cable TV system now offers: 12 channels on the basic service; seven channels on the conver- ter service; and 1l FM stations.
