The following arc the resuits of play as of Feb. 22: NOVICE On Feb. 21 the Whitby OPSEU Warriors defeated Ajax 3-2 and won the series, two gaines to nothing. MINOR ATOM On Feb. 20, at Ajax, Ajax defeated Brooklin Concrete Produets 10-2 and were ahead one garne to nothing in the best of five series. MINOR PEE WEE In an extra deciding game Feb. 21, Aqualine Pools shut out Bay Ridges 4-0, elirninat- ing Bay Ridges frorn the se ries. This garne as requîred because the best of five series ended with two games for each tearn and one tie. The Whitby teain goes on to the next round against Kingston Tovnsli-ip. Plenty of action iu curling There's plenty of action at the Whitby Curling Club this month. The winners of the men's A, B and C divisions wvere Jin McLelland, Toley Woznîak and Ron Plunimer, who will play off for the charnpionship of the second draw. In rnixed curling, the first draw winners for the Wednes- day night draw were Harold Bonnetta, first; and Mac Binning, second. In the Friday Night Draws, (B Section) Ron Cameron was first; Doug Brown, second; and Ron Plummer, third. In C Section, Clayton McKay was first, Don Ruddy second, and Dave Werry third. The annual Molson's Men's Bonspiel had 16 rinks coin- pe te. Four out-of-town rinks and four Whitby teams were on the competitive dravw while the other draw savw eight Whitby rinks particîpate in a club section of the spiel. Charlie Fishcr's Whitby ink won the comnpetitiv( draw and Perry Laurence rink took the club section after a fine day of gooc curling. Minor hockey playoff resuits, Proi 10 CARE "IYou must be crazy- was the most comnion sentiment expressed to thèse Durham College students who took a dip in Whitby Harbor Feb. 22 as part of their Winter Capnivai festivities. Nineteen students, in two shifts of 25 minutes each, stood waist deep in the frigid water, in a "Polar Bear Swim". Each student was tied by a string to a students standing on shore. A number of ducks and geese had to vacate the only pà tch of open water avalable, while a crowd of more than 100 students watched the swimmers do their thing.
