The hot cider served with the cookies sprcad its inimitable warinthi throughout the crowd in preparationi for the luayrides -about the town on a mnmber of tractor crawn haywagons supplied by the Brooklin Kinsmien. "Trees For Canada" is a national Scouýing projýct designeil to give ahl the boys the opportunity to demnon- strate" through their actions their concern for their couîntry. Lt provides training in conservation and reforesta- tion, beautifies Canada, improves the Scouting imnage and supplies fonds for local, provincial and national needs. Funds raised by the Whitby plantings will be used to help Scouting in Whitby District to develop camp sites and other needs. Somne of the mnoney is uised to support Operation Amigo, an interna- tional Scout brotherhood prograni designed to help five American countries to adapt Scouting to their needs. HOCKEY CLINIC REGISTRATION The Whitby Recreation Departnient is taking registra- tions for its annual Christmas Hockey Clinie Saturday from 10 a.mn.to noon at the Iroquois Park Arena. The hockey clinic wil be held at Iroquois Park Dec. 29 to 31.
