On Friday in Brantford, John Gofton's second goal of the game after 2:54 of over- time gave the hosts a 4-3 victory. Steve De Gurse and Fred Speck scored the winners' other goals. Ed Shack, Greg Bodnar and Brian Hart replied for the Warriors who were out- shot 36-31 but got good goal- tending from MIke Ryckman. On Sunday in Whitby, Jack Egers' second goal of the gamne after 57 seconds of overtime boosted the Alex- anders to a 4-3 win. Other goal scorers for the visitors, who trailed 4-2 after two periods, were former Barrie Flyers' captain Corby Adams, with two, and Dan O'Donahue. Whitby got goals from Mike Keenan, Ed Shack, Mark Robson and Greg Bodnar. Once again, netminder Mike Ryckman played a strong game in a losing cause, facing 41 shots while his teamrnates managed 33 at the Brantford goal. Warriors play a pair of games in Thunder Bay on the weekend. Their next home game is Sunday, November 28, when they face Cambiidge at 7:30 p.m. at Iroquois Park Arena. The girls are among 14. members of the Hamlton- Oshawa-Whitby Synchronized Swim Team, which is regarded as the second best in Canada, says Whitby swimming pool supervisor Tom McLaughlin. The Whitby girls are al novice swimmers, most ' of them competing for their first time this year. They participate in regular training sessions Tuesday and Thurs- days evenings from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Iroquois Park, under the direction of Head Coach Betty-Ann Major and assistants Lynne Matthews and Donna Stafford. The girls have been improv- ing stead.ly, since commencing C.W. Marlowe, c.a. in September and are present- ly working towards the big, meet in Ottawa. New teara suits are on the way, thanks to the, Whitby Kiwanis Club. They are colored navy blue with a gold panel. For the new year, the smiimmers are working towards a 12 and under competition January 30 in Burlington. Inter-teamn competitions are also being planned for 1977.
