Town park sites an d adjoining* school playing fields shaîl be designed for active recreational use and shall be confined to such use for the terrn cf the agreement except for areaÉ ini excess of eight acres. The plans for development of such sites including grading, special design and layout of facilities shaîl be approved by both parties and co-ordinated to make thern suitable for joint and overlapping use. Whitby residents take top spots in annual carnival The Annual Whitby Carnival Rally attracted fifty entries and wound up with Whitby residents in the top thrcc spots. The first placed crew of' Steve lluiii cf Ajax and John Corrigan of Whitby was followed in second place by Whitby lawyer Nigel Schilling and Free Press owner Mike Burgess. Nigel and M ike placed third in this car rally the two previous years. Third place wvent to Tony Bate of Whitby and Clive Edwards cf Ajax. This crew placed second last year. The highest placed mixed creW award was won by Fred Beal and Linda Patterson both cf Scarborough.
