The hosts were the 1 st Brookiin Cubs whio held Open House for parents and frieilds - approximnately 100 attended. Part of the evenings' entertainment was a slap&ick comnedy, written and produced by Roy Hiscoxs, one of the boys' father, and performed by the 1 st Brooklin Cubs. It went over weil and everyone 'enjoyed thernselves. Dare I ask if this is the start of "Five Arts" in Brooklin? And while talking cubs - 1 presumne that the paper drive for the* second. Brooklin Ist and 2nd Guides and Brownies are fund- raising too. The Mothers Auxiliiary of our local group are busy seiling Laura Secord Easter Eggs and Easter Bunnies and Chicks. LIZ 655-3750 James Arthur Stork dies in hospital at 72 James Arthur Stork, a former supervisor at the Whitby Psychiatric Hospital, died last Wednesday at -the Toronto General Hospital, at the age of 72. Mr., Stork, who lived at 77 Burk St., Oshawa, was born in Whitby Township, June 9, 1903, the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth Ann Stork. He was a member of the Anglican Church, the Quarter Century Club, Civil Service Association, and Mount Zion Lodge No. 39 AF & AM. He was also a. Past Master of Vimy Ridge Lodge 2697 LOL. The grant is for the purchase of large-print and taiking books which xviii be distributed to the handicapped and senior citizens. NDP meet March 7 Mel Swart the immiediate past president of the Ontario NDP wîll speak at Dr. Charles Godfrey's nomination meet- ing on March 7. Mr. Swvart bas been active in the CCF and the NDP for 28 years. The meeting is at the UAW hall on Hunt St., Ajax at 8 p.m. Save in the old fashioned way.
