The girls were practising about four hours a day, six days a week for the thiree weeks prior tu the meet, ac- cording lu coach Jim Higgs who added that normal prac- tice sessions are held four limes a week and each lasts just under four hours. Sandra Batten finished fourth overail among 76 co"m- petitors and took first place on the balance beam, second on the uneven bars and sixth in floor exercises. CarDl Toenjes finished seventh overail and look fourtlh place on the balance b earn. Kari Hagen finished first overaîl and look first place in vauling, second in Iloor exercises and fifth on the unevcn bars.
