And if anyone else who goes over to the Match, has an exhiausting day and therefore doesn't feel like cooking..ther' make your way to the United Church Hall in Brooklin, sit yourself down and eat some home- style cooking prcpared by those fantastic cooks.*...the ladies of the U.C.W. Dinner will be served from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. each evening of the .23rd to the 27th..cost is $3.50 for adults ànd $2 for children under 12. You are now ino the last week of September, and therefore you have only a few days left in which to return those library books, without having to pay that hefty fine that you have incurred for having them out for so long! Make the most of it. A.lso at the library there is registra- tion taking place for the start of the Preschool Storyhour. The programme takes place each Tuesday between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m., for those litte ones between the ages of 3 and 5 ycars. Space is limlited so make sure you are regis- tered by the 27th..actuai programme starts beginnirg of October. Also for those preschoolers, there is stili room in the Y.M.C. preschool programmes. Co-op Play School.,.... which is 10w licensed..takes place at Meadowcrest School and there are stili vacancies for both the 4 day or two day programme. Let's Create takes place on Friday mornings between 9:30 and 11:-30 a.m. and is held at the United Churchi Hall. And saine time and sanie place, but on a Wednesday morning, there is the Take-a-Break pro- gramme..which is both for mothers and tots. You can register at the 'Y' or on the opening morning. For ail those very impatient youngsterS who are eagerly awaiting the mid-week activities at the United Church, can 1 just let you know that they will be restartîng the week of the 6th October. l'Il have more details for you next Te Ontario Humane Society could do with your help, if you could spare an hour or s0 on Saturday the 27th. It is their Tag Day..proceeds of which go to help Our four legged friends. If you could help them, cali 668-2576 and our offer will be gratefully accepted. I know that some of my readers are at odds with the 0.11.S., but be big and hide your anirnosity for the latter won't help the animnais. And that at least is what the Society is trying so hard to do. Tickets for Group 74's dance to be held at Fantasyland on October l8th can still be obtained , cither by callîng 655-4635 or by calling at the Emporium on Baldwin St. Tickets are $8 a couple..and for that you get bar privi- leges, door prizes and refreshments. This show is open to any society in Durham Region. The Best Decorative and Best Mum specimen will be sel- ected. Along with the show, refreshmnents wilI be served. The society also plans to have a slide presentation of the society's activities of the past year and some of their planting projects. This can be viewed in the basemnent hall of the Brooklin United Church Hall, just across the road from the Mount Zion Hall. Everyone is welcome, 50 bring a friend. This open house is in conjuniction with the World Plowing Match.
