They defeated Darlene and Jim Wilson in straight sets 6-O and 6-2. In previous championship matches, Olive Schlatter downed Darlene Wilson for the ladies' singles title while Tony Reimer bested Steve Thwaites for the mens' sin- gles crown. Jim Wilson, tournamnent chairman, deserves much credit as he has set up the club's championship matches and tournaments almnost singlehandedly. The Whitby Tennis Club, in conjunction with the Whit- by YMCA, will hold a tourney fromn July 3 1 to August 4. There is currently a three way tie for fIrst place among Whitby Welding, Kinsmen Club and Trio T.V. Whitby Bakery Clearance and Hooker Chev Olds share second place. Don O'Brien and John Buisman added singles while Ron Wiersma, with two, ,and Rob Martin replied for the losers. Lasco then downed Armi- strong Homes 3-1 as Mike Pasowisty scored twice and Don O'Brien once. Robin l-agy scored for Armstrong Homes. Fred Frendocumbo was in goal for Ewing Pool's 4-O shu tout of Armstrong Homes. Peter Duivesteyn scored twice while Robbie Frendocumbo and Mark Vandermeulen added singles. Susari Davis scored twice while Kamal Curry and Mary Plaskitt added singles. Patannas Ladies Fashions blanked Munns Press by an identical 4-O score as Cheryl Allens picked up the shutout Michel Pineiro score three timcs and Tracy Elliott once. Lisa Smith scored all of Pine Ridge Nurseries' goals in three victories. She scored once as fier squad blanked Patannas Lad- ies Fashions 1-O. Terri-Le Sandford got the shutout. Pine Ridge Nurseries then dumped first place Pickering Road Runners 6-1 with Lisa Smith scoring ail six goals. Linda Hartjes replied for the losers. She then scored a pair to lead Pine Ridge Nurseries to a 2-O victory over Mitchell Brothers as Terri-Lee Sand- ford picked up her second shu tout of the week. Joanne Spek scored five times to pace Pickering Fly- crs to a 6-O shutout over Ajax Mohawks. Barbara Bootoner scored once while Kelly Auges picked up the shutout.
