The commission will lFire 24 new policemen and Il citizons over the noxt year to offset a 28 percent increase in theý crime rate in 1974. A new communications systemn will cost a total of $500,000 to be paid oe three years - '$100»00 in 1975 and $200,000 in each ofl1976 and 1977. The commission has also forecast a total expenditure of $600,000 in five years for land, construction and furn- ishings in the Ajax-Pickering area. . 1
