John Bracken, Eddie Kranc, Bill Herne and Steve Morris scored for the winners. Eddie Derks tallied twice in a losing cause while Dennis Jacobs fired one goal. After that game, the locals participated i a tournamnent at Port Perry. They won their first two gamnes, 2-1 over Port Perry and 2-0 over Bowmanville. In the 2-1 victory, Gdl Nieuwendyk and Wayne Middleton scored while Mike Pfiho collected both goals in the shutôut victory. Gord Brown and Chuck Heatherington shared the shu tout. DOC Team Trounces Oshawa 'Denis O'Connor Midget Basketball team trounced Oshawa Catholic Hîgh School 53-23 in a weekend exhibi- tion gaine. This contest was a tuneup for DOC in preparation for COSSA ini Belleville on Sat- urday. Leading the way for DOC were Rick Nieuwendyk with 18 points; Pat O'Connor, 16; and John Parrot, eight. DOC then hosted Osha- wa's G.L. Roberts Coflegiate and came out on top of a 60-48 score. High scorers for DOC, were Pat O'Connor With 17 points; John Parrott and Rick Nieu- wendyk, 14 each; and James Roach, eight. Mark Armstrong scored 11I points for the losers while Dave Grealis and Fred Up- shaw each picked up eight. Peewees Win 3-1 As a resuit of a recent 3-1 victory, the Brooklin*-Whitby Mitchell Brothers Minor Pee- wee Allstars, currently lead Bay Ridges 2-1 in their best- of-five playoff series. Warren Smith scored twice in the gamne played at Bay Ridges while John Fusco tallied a single. Greg Kitchener fired the losers' only goal. The original Barefoot Comtort 2-0 lead halfway through the second period on a good pass- ing play. Danny Lutes put Orillia on the scoreboard withi a slap shot from the point that beat Whtby's Bruce Durno. Sev- en seconds later Gary Milroy put the puck past Ted Lensser pushing the Mac's ahead 3-1. Calvin Petitt, although taking several penalties, played a strong defensive game and put in the final Whitby goal in the third period. In frustration, the Terriers started throwing their weight around in an attempt to intimidate the Macs. At the final buzzer, the benches cleared as a fight broke out at the penalty box when Rick Cornacchia attacked Ahîsten but found himself fighiting Pettit instcad. Cornacchia received a major penalty and a game miscon- duct. The McDonaldf will host the Brantford Foresters to- morrow night, at Iroquois Park. They are the only teain in their division to accomplish this as they finished regular league play with 22 wins and two ties. In their final gamoi, Whitby defeated Uxbridge 5-3 in a contest played at the Brook- lin Arena. Whitby had to do it the hard way as they scored th ree unanswered goals after trail- ing 3-2 midway through the second period. Dave Sachiko scored a hiat- trick for the winners while Billy Callan and Joey Nieu- wendyk each ta't"d singles.
