The double header week - end included the second last race in the World Manufaclurers Series, a Formula Super - Vee event and the third race in the fine race Can - Am package. The six hour endurance race was dominated by the super quick French Matra - Simca 670 Spyder. These lithe prototype racers which this year have won four of the nine races run, with the balance going to Ferrari, Porsche and Mirage, were neyer really challenged afler the fifteenth lap, when the Pescarolo Larousse Matro caplured the lead and held on for the win. The Ferrari 312 P's managed to finish second and third but they mere two and three laps off the leaders. Pescarolo and Larousse have taken every viclory this year for Matra.
