So my brain sends a message to my stomach that says, "Get ready stomach, here comes World War 3. " An d I grit my teeth and drink the stuff. After all TheWhitbyMinor Baseball Associa- tion this week announced the appointment of Convenor s for the 1972 baseball season. Muschett returned W i n s t on Muschett returns as Con- venor of the Tyke Division, his second year at the post. The Tyke group is the largest of the Association's divisions, and is made up of the youngest boys playing organized baseball in the com- munity. In 1971, there were 234 boys in the Tyke Division, playing in a 13 team House League and with the K of C c l u b which represents Whitby in the Eastern Ontario Baseball Association. Muschett came to Whitby from Wexford where he was active in basebal1 circles. Since moving to Whitby he has coached teams in the W. M.B.A. House League andalsoservesas a Director on the W. M. B.A. executive. In its four year his- tory the W. M. B. A. has had an increased registration each season and Associa- ti on officials expect that registration may exceed 500 in 1972. Wafters to head Pee-Wees The Pee-Wee group, made up of 10- 12 yr. olds will be headed up by Bill Watters a familiar name on the local b a s e b at1i scene. Wel ai that siphoning of alcohol nearly p a r a lyzed my tips, and t did have one smal I accident. i had the pail on the c o un ter in the kitchen and the jugs on the floor. The siphon hose was in one j ug an d I heard something exciting on TV. I got caught up in the spirit of the TV program - and the jug overflowed. When t went to clean it up it didn't look as bad as first appearances. A. and the resurgance of baseballt inWhitby, Watters has been anxious to ge-t- back into the Whitby baseball pic- ture, and his baseball knowledge and experience will be of great help to the W. M.B.A. in '71 the Pee-Wee Division: had an eight team House League and the Whitby Legionaires, playing in the E. O. .A. Twining & fillier to guide Bantams Ron Twining and Alex Fillier are going to share responsibi-lity for guiding the Bantam group in the coming year. In 1971 two Whitby House League Clubs pI ay e d an interlocking schedule with teams of the Oshawa Legion Baseball Association, which created a spirited r i vat1 r y in the loop. 1ttseems almost certain the Bantam group will be ex- panded in the coming season as boys move up from the Pee-Wee bracket.
