Ladies enjoyed some exercise and craft from 9:30 to 11:30 a. m. * Badminton for teenagers and adults will be held every Thursday evening at Meadowcrest school between 8:15 and 10:15 p.m. Hospital tea The Volunteer Association of the Whitby Psychiatric Hospital held a tea at the school of nursing building on t h e grounds on September 29th. The purpose of the tea was to inform the community of the association's work. During the year, many members of the community gave generously of their time to assist in the recovery of the hospi tal's patients. These vol- unteers are working in the Good Luck Shop giving out good used clothing to patients. The association is also operating the patientts I ibrary, and are provid- ing a quiet spot for them to read or write letters. Vol un teers visit several wards e a c h w eek with a shopping cart so th a t pa tients may purchase smal1 i t e m s . Many volunteers vi sit with the patients to play cards, show m o v i e s or to take them on walk s.
