Car was driven at police By David Lea OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF Halton police are searching for a suspect following a car chase, which took place in the area of Millbank and Glenashton drives, Sunday, Sept. 30. Police were called to the area just before 7 p.m., after receiving complaints from residents about a group of young men who were drinking in a parked car. Det. Sgt. Anthony Odoardi said when officers arrived on the scene, the suspect vehicle allegedly drove directly at the police cruiser forcing the officer who was behind the wheel to take evasive action. A short car chase ensued but ended when the suspect vehicle went out of control and hit a tree at Glenashton and Glenora drives. After the crash, four men allegedly fled the vehicle while one woman remained at the scene. Two men were arrested after a brief foot chase, but two other men escaped. He has been charged with criminal failing to stop for police, dangerous driving and two counts of breach of recognizance.
