Description
A.C. McLean of Lindsay whose parents live on Pottinger Street and who was a student at the LCI when he enlisted in the RCAF on 17 August 1943 was privileged to return safely after a brilliant career in the operations overseas.


He trained at Toronto (Ont), St. Huberts (Que), Mt. Pleasant (PEI), and Maitland (NS).


He was promoted from LAC to Sergeant given his commission as Pilot Officer and promoted to Flying Officer.


He was sent overseas in April 1944. F|O McLean completed a tour of operations (35 trips over Germany and 1 over Norway). He trained overseas with 86 0.TU. (Ganston 1666 C.U. Wambleton – 425 Squadron “Alouette”.


F|O McLean operated from Thelthorpe with the “Alouette” 425 Squadron. Flying Officer McLean returned to Canada in May 1945 and was given his discharge on 21 June 1945.


F|O McLean has the CVSM, Operational Wing, and the Caterpillar Badge.


He is welcomed back to the Lindsay family and friends who rejoice that he escaped injury in his service.
