Gnr. Jack McGrath, Kinmount, is killed
Gnr. Jack McGrath, the first resident of the village of Kinmount to enlist, has been reported killed in action in France. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McGrath of Kinmount and was born and raised in the village. He was well known throughout the district. He joined the 45th Field Battery on Sept. 8th, 1939. Gnr. McGrath is also the first Kinmount casualty. He went overseas in 1941. He had five birthdays in the army and was 23 years old.
A younger brother, Redge, is serving in the army. He is 18. Another brother Ted, is working in [cut off]
