Lt. Mumford is promoted

One Peterborough and three district men have been promoted according to a report issued today by the department of National Defense. These four were among 176 other officers and ranks to be awarded.


Lieut. Donald Edward Weese, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. Weese, 559 Harvey Street Peterborough has been confirmed as an Acting Captain with the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment in Italy. He enlisted with the Prince of Wales Rangers (CA) later going overseas as a reinforcement.


Lt. Clifford H. Broad, whose wife Mrs. Etta May Broad, lives at Bancroft; Lt. Howard Lincoln Martin of the RCASC, whose mother lives at Colbourne; Lt. Donald L. Mumford, RCCS, whose wife, Mrs. Martha M. Mumford, lives at 91 Bond Street, Lindsay, have all been made Acting Captains.
