A charming nuptial event was solemnized on Wednesday June 7th at the home of the bride's parents when Helen Bernice McAlpine daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.P. MacAlpine of Reaboro became the bride of Pilot Officer James William Moore, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Mervyn Moore, of Lindsay. The ceremony took place at 3 p.m. the bride being given in marriage by her father.

The bride looked quite attractive in her mother's wedding gown a beautiful raw silk with pineapple fibre, which was imported from the Philippines. She wore a long veil with heart-shaped halo and carried a beautiful wedding bouquet.

The bride was assisted by Miss Audris Moore, a sister of the groom as bridesmaid who wore a pale pink floor length sheer, carrying pink carnations. She also wore a shoulder length veil.

The groom was assisted by his brother AC 2 Robert Moore and the ushers were J. B. Mac Alpine of Toronto and B. F. Mac Alpine of Reaboro It was a unique double-ring ceremony.

Miss Marie Wilson, of Lindsay played the wedding musi” during the ceremony "O Promise Me” and as the party entered the drawing room “Wagner's Wedding – March” was played and after the ceremony “Mendelssohn's Wedding March.”

A reception followed at the home of the bride's parents when Mrs. MacAlpine mother of the bride wore a gown of rose colored sheer and a carnation corsage. She also wore black accessories. Mrs. Moore mother of the groom wore a blue sheer gown with navy accessories and a corsage of white carnations.

The bride travelled in a white flowered red silk jersey dress with green accessories and fawn top coat.
