Traffic travelling east along Speers Road was slowed to a crawl as police and paramedics responded to the collision, which occurred at Eric RIEHL / OAKVILLE BEAVER / @halton_photog approximately 12:15 p.m., and involved a black SUV and a white minivan. Several children, including a toddler, were inside one of the vehicles at the time of the accident. Halton police are not reporting any serious injuries at this time. Car fire on Speers/Morden roads Traffic was momentarily stalled in the Morden and Speers roads intersection on Thursday, as members of the Oakville Fire Department battled a car fire. The small blaze broke out in the engine area of a grey Honda Civic at around 1:30 p.m., as the vehicle waited at the intersection. Fire officials said the flames were well established when they arrived, but were extinguished before they could spread beyond the front portion of the car. No one was injured as the vehicle's occupant was able to escape safely. The car fire came just an hour after a collision at Dorval Drive and Speers Road sent a man to hospital.
