"This is great news for our students, faculty and the colleges, as it secures a new contract for two years and removes the threat of a strike," said Sonia Del Missier, chair of the Colleges' bargaining team, in a news release. "Both sides bargained hard and came to a settlement that is reasonable to faculty and affordable for the colleges." The agreement affects 515 full-time professors at Sheridan College and another 450-500 part-time (12 hours/week) professors, and comes after a few months of bargaining that resulted in conciliation. One profile introduces online viewers to Slinky, a small, neutered, dark brown, eight-year-old male Tabby. The profile says Slinky is very friendly with humans and cats although it does take him a bit of time to warm up to people. Once he does get used to a person, Slinky becomes a true lap cat most suitable for a calm household with no dogs and older calmer children. All of the cats are up to date on vaccines and are FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) negative. Cameron said CARE is offering to waive the adoption fees for these cats. For those concerned about the costs associated with owning a cat, CARE is also offering to place the cats in homes on a "We are committed to finding homes for these last remaining cats over the next few months to ensure that Cindy has complete peace of mind in knowing that all of her cats have found their forever homes."
