Local youth robbed by group Halton Regional Police Service is looking for several suspects after a 15-year-old Oakville youth was robbed of his cellphone near William and Reynolds streets, Wednesday, Aug. 8. The boy had been walking with friends along a lakeside path around 6:45 p.m., when a group of six to eight men approached them. The men, whom the victim did not know, began asking the victim questions and eventually demanded his cellphone. Police said when the victim refused, one of the suspects allegedly grabbed him and put him in a chokehold while another suspect grabbed the phone. The men then left the area on foot heading north on William Street and then west on Reynolds Street. The teen received no physical injuries during the robbery and no other property was taken. The first suspect has a dark complexion, approximately 18 years old, wearing a red shirt with a white muscle shirt underneath, a red baseball cap and denim shorts that covered his knees. A second suspect is described as a white, approximately 18 years, wearing a black hat with an `Obey' logo and a red shirt with white letters on front that read `Coke boys.' The third suspect is white, wearing a white button-up shirt and plaid shorts. A fourth suspect is described as a white with a freckled complexion, wearing a black shirt and spacers in each ear. No descriptions are available for the remaining men. Cyclist struck Halton police say an Oakville cyclist who was struck by a car near Fourth Line and Speers Road Thursday received only minor injuries. The male cyclist, who is in his mid30s, was hit by a vehicle at 2:49 p.m. He was described as being alert and talking with officers at the scene.
