Mrs Bergin finds that frustrating Playground project needs volunteers NEWMARKET Volunteers are needed to assist in the completion of the first phase of the Rogers Public School adventure playground Organizers who were aided financially by a fun fair held at the school recently need as many helpers as they can get principal Keith Profit said Work crews will be out in force Tuesday and Thursday evenings from pm until dark and all day Saturday Designed for youngsters from kinder garten to Grade the first phase incorporates a series of cedar posts that form a base for walk ways guardrails 11yearold daughter suffers from multiple handicaps but has been aided through a school operated by the chapter I just cant thank them enough for what theyve done said the Newmarket mother In addition to directly aiding with learning disabilities the association provides a strong voice in dealing with community and government groups For this reason Mrs hopes to see strong Newmarket area Bowyer all of Newmarket are doing the survey for the Ontario March of Dimes under the direction of Alison Adair its community development worker in the Region The 14week project is being financed by a federal Young Canada Works Program grant Results of the survey are due to be tabulated by Aug If the survey indicates a service is needed said Miss the project manager the March of Dimes will take the data to the appropriate funding bodies probably municipal councils and attempt to persuade them to provide the bus service Although letters hove gone out to all organizations and agencies dealing with the disabled in the region the survey team feels it may still miss reaching a lot of people especially the elderly now unable to use existing public transit For that reason the survey learn has issued
