At Era Kctwkfc April Newmarket artist shows at overseas exhibition TWO porcelain sandblasted spheres by Georgian College Ceramics Master Ann Mortimer are currently being exhibited in Czechoslovakia slip cast pieces entitled Pierced Space earned Ann one of Purchase Prizes awarded at the National Ceramics Exhibition Calgary Arrangements were made for the purchased works to be exhibited Airing the month of April at the- Art Centrum Czechoslovak Centre of Fine Arts Prague A ceramics teacher at the Colleges Campus and resident of Newmarket Ann is the only from the region with work in the Prague exhibit The National Ceramics Exhibition Calgary held October through December at the ANN MORTIMER gallery facilities Of the GlenbowAlberta In stitute was sponsored by the Alberta Potters Association and Institute with the cooperation of the Canadian Guild of Pot ters It drew entries by entrants from which a jury chose 234 works for the show representing Candian ceramists Prom these works pieces were selected for Purchase Awards for the per manent collection of the In stitute and these pieces are now in Czechoslovakia Wellknown in craft circles across Canada Ann is vicepresident of the Canadian Guild of Potters of the Canadian Crafts Council and chairman of the councils education committee A national organ ization the council has provincial and territorial directors and eight A
