NEWMARKET For the first time in six years the chairman elected to the York Region Board of Health has been passed aver as chairman of the regions health and social services committee This year the two committees which meet one after the other once a month elected separate chairmen King Township Mayor Margaret Britnell received the nod to head the board while Rich mond Hill Mayor Dave Schiller was acclaimed chairman of the health and social services committee Mayor Britnell took the head chair at last Thursdays board meeting but was challenged by Aurora Mayor George who called for a proper election The King mayor who was vicechairman of the board last year had been elected chairtrBn at a special meeting called for Jan the day after the regional inaugural meeting at which com mittees ago Mrs Stiver was active in St Pauls Anglican Church the Red Cross and York County Hospital auxiliary She was one of a handful of women who formed the Ladies Aid group at St Pauls that for more than
