story is fact most of the charac ters are fact but the heroine and her family are fiction The story centres in the village of Hope which is now Sharon It deals with the people living in the village and their participation in the Mackenzie Rebellion of The hero is teenager Step hen Howard of Holland Landing and Betsy Ward of Hope Mrs Swayze the authoress who resides in King Township describes how
