fy J r I Era NewmarketAurora Out Wed November I I m I REV DONALD PERKINS Victory Baptist Church Are the citizens of Newmarket generally inter ested in spiritual things Or to put it more speci fically what is their reaction to the presentation of Gods Word I base my remarks on information gleaned from a recent Literature Canvass made by our Church to about homes on the east side of the Town It has been quite an interesting endeavour and also a revealing experience to see the reception of people to what we believe to the complete Word of God and the Total Revelation of the Creator to His creatures In a day of con fusion and anxiety when so many things are un certain and shaky one would think people would quickly grasp for something of stability and security Generally the response has been along these three avenues some ridiculed and refused others received in complacently without a mention of commitment to it some have believed This was the same reaction the Apostle Paul had when he spoke of the resur rection from the dead in Acts chapter seventeen Some mocked says the Bible How well this summarizes the reaction of a few Hiding under their own religion they are afraid to let God Word either commend it or condemn it They suspect good sincere people of an indoctrination program to change them When all they came to do was to share a mes sage of life from the Living Word How tragic a day when we can no longer trust our fellow man and would even mistrust the man who would throw life preserver to a drowning man thinking he had ulterior motive other than that of saving the Omans life Some we will hear you again the polite way of getting rid of the nuisance at the door Most are guilty of this charge it is the old thief procrastination I hear you again when have time or it is con- venient How sad it is For so many people there probably never be a more convenient time for them to consider the of Christ revealed in the Bible Others responded with la note of enquiry There was a desire to believe this message and we are thankful that we have been able to give assist ance in making the Way clearer for them It is desire and firm con- viction that as they read Bible and seek for God He will reveal Him self to them through His Son Jesus Christ who is source basis of all life Egg Leftovers Have Many Uses NEWMARKET Egg whites should be stored in a tightly covered
