streets were jammed with eager hockey players their proud poppas and mommas coaches managers and excited supporters Well done Newmarket was the word around the arena halls Good will you cant buy at numerous tourney innovations The Town of Newmarket got into the act They donated a Municipal High Point Trophy This to go to the community picking up the most points in the four day tourney Too the other donors of trophies are to be saluted for their support Reeve George Richardson representing the town Bill Hub minor hockey and Roy Smalley the Canadian Legion officiated at the opening face- off as the success story started They all bade a word of welcome to our visitors Few but those who have been actively engaged In minor hockey realize the great amount work hat goes into a tournament of this size It involves hundreds in our community and across the Davis Drive line in East Gwillimbury Observers were impressed with the calibre of he hockey Some could hardly believe these players were house league allstars only They were an indi cation we have some excellent house league talent here East Gwillimbury and across the province Many of these players no doubt will move up to next season some may even skate across our TV screens at some future date with NHL clubs Bradford like ourselves had big growing pains last week Celery town streets were crowded with young hockey players etc as
