Region 3 is the largest region in the province, drawing players from as far away as Windsor, Niagara and Port Elgin for tryouts in London. "I'm really looking forward to it," Gorrell said. "Club is just in your general area. Doing Region 3 is more important. It just doesn't get heard about as much because so little people make it. It's going to be really fun." The two Halton Hurricanes players overcame several deficits -- including an 11-point hole in the semifinals -- to win the 14-under girls' championship at the Ontario Volleyball Association event. In the final, Krebs and Monkhouse dropped the first set 21-13 before rallying to win the next two sets, 21-14 and 15-13. The provincial gold marked the third medal in as many 14U tournaments for the duo this season. Krebs and Monkhouse earned silver at their previous two competitions.
