McLEOD, Norman Bruce - Peacefully with his family by his side at Alexandra Hospital on Saturday, August 4, 2012. Bruce McLeod of Embro in his 82nd year, beloved husband of Bette ( deceased June 2009). Loved father of Jan Anderson (Ernie) of Burnt River, Jill Pariser (Marc) of Ingersoll, Ian McLeod (Brenda) of London and Scott McLeod (Karen and daughter Brittany McKaye) of RR# 3 Embro. Cherished grandfather of Michael (Leanne), Andrew, Nicole and Stephen Pariser; Jason, Tyler, Marissa and Robert McLeod; and great granddaughter Madison. Dear brother of the late Helen Welch (Ken). Dear brother-in-law of Jack Kemble (Sheila), Donna Suffield (the late Len) and the late Dorothy Palmer. Survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Bruce was a dairy farmer most of his life, taking over the family farm from his father Norman (Sarah). He was a member of the Thistle Lodge Embro, Past Master of that Lodge and Secretary for many years. He was a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason with sixty years of very active service. He was the First Most Wise Sovereign of Centennial Chapter Rose Croix Woodstock (1968). He received the Order of Scotland (2010). He was a much valued trustee of the West Zorra and Oxford County School Boards for more than twenty years. He was active in the Zorra Caledonia Society, having held the positions of President and Secretary. He was involved in the Embro/Zorra Agricultural Society/Fair Board, and shared his knowledge with many as a 4H leader. As an Elder at Knox United Church, Embro, he held many other offices including Superintendent of the Sunday School, as well as the Chair of Trustees for many years up until his last. Friends will be received by the family on Friday, August 10, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with a Masonic Service at 6:30pm at MCBEATH-DYNES FUNERAL HOME 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll. Funeral to take place Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 1pm, Knox United Church in Embro with Reverend Judy Campbell officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Knox United Church, Embro or Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll. Online condolences may be sent at www.gffh.ca.
