Miss Johnstone is a lastyear student at the Presbyterian Missionary Deaconess Training school Tor onto She described the courses available at the school The course takes three years if the student enters with a senior matriculation A Bachelor of Arts graduate must attend for two years This is the only Presbyterian school of this type in Canada and students attend from all sections of the Dominion There are girls from British Guiana BerI and Formosa studying at the school this year Miss Johnstone is a former lab oratory technician from Montreal She was introduced by Mrs Bruce Will Visitors were pres ent from Schomberg Bolton St Pauls church Ninth Line and Eversley Mrs Robert presided Mrs Donald McCallum read the Scripture and the junior choir sang How Marvellous with Mrs C A Black as organist Total enrolment at the school is under 30 and the need is great for more recruits in this church work Miss Johnstone said At least 10 vacancies exist for each graduate Upon graduation a girl accepts fulltime work in the church She may become a congregation- deaconess a director of Christ ian education an overseas mis sionary a supervisor of a child rens center or a regional or presbyterial deaconess Two summers are spent at field work in Canada during the course Miss Johnstone has worked with the Indians in northern Ontario A vote of thanks was extend ed to Miss
