shifting from Miami to the great outdoors this week Right now as the outdoor sea son approaches the bowlers are mainly concerned about the con dition of the greens The wet weather has kept them from get ting started but has worked mir acles with the turf and brought Miami Jamboree Competition Keen i Its always fair weather when good friends get together is a sign that is displayed prominent ly at Newmarkets Miami greens it was extra good weather and extra good competition May as the Miami greens- men wrote an official close to their season They have a special name for the closing event Its called their jam boree With President Bob in charge six rinks entered the seasonending competitions In the first game of the evening Jack Lucks rink George Hudsons rink In game two Tommy Scotts foursome showed class to defeat Ernie Dutch Krantzs rink In a third firstround contest Doug Wilsons combination defeated Frank rink in a finish match In the second round of the playoffs Jack Lucks rink came up with an win over Tommy Scotts quartet in a fine game It was the Luck rink against Doug Wilsons in the finals with Wilsons combination showing sparkling form particularly Doug Brown to earn an impres sive victory Switching over to the consola tion series George Hudsons rink earned the third prize by de feating Hay substituting for Ernie Krantz Doug Wilsons first prize rink was Wilson skip Ken Bain vice- skip Doug Brown second and George Kyle lead Members of Jack Lucks second place com bination were Luck skip Bruce Gibson viceskip Frank Court ney second and John Kennedy lead
