night I came away from the game sorely troubled and in ray way of thinking the whole disgrace ful performance was due to the referees failure to stop charging into the boards I do not object to rugged play and I could see very little wrong with the game except the charg ing into the boards which Is pure mayhem Both teams were do ing it getting away with it and it absolutely spoiled the game and it could easily be stopped Surely someone either managers coaches or the could clamp down on it and pre serve our game of speed skill and courage so that everyone could enjoy it Yours sincerely J Aiken dog kennel or any other estab lishment of this nature that may possibly create a nuisance to the ratepayers in the area should at least withhold the license until such time as the taxpayers in the immediate vicinity have an opportunity to express their views on the matter Councillor George To Sire Sheep Claims Dear Mr Editor Youll pardon us Mr Editor if We happen to pop up again on an Unfamiliar page and well forgive you if you dont run the usual picture with this communication This councillor was the only member to oppose the granting of a license for a dog kennel to be established on Eagle St just west of the entrance to Don Mor Drive The request was present ed to council Monday The mo tion to grant the license wont through over our objections I do not that it is fair to the citizens in that area to per mit the establishment of a dog kennel without their being per mitted to say whether they want or not While council was as sured the kennel would not cre ate a nuisance from my own ex perience I question strenuously the truth of this statement Fur thermore I feel the location of a kennel in this area or anywhere else within the town limits will devaluate the properties of the taxpayers ill the immediate vi cinity As it now stands as see it there is nothing except the whim of council to protect the citizens in residential areas from this sort of thing Anyone as proven Monday can secure permission to operate a dog kennel a pig gery a squirrel farm a mink ranch or any other type of farm for that matter within the town limits it is time that citizens who purchase homes in good faith in what they consider resi dential areas are given protec tion in this regard For instance let me speak of my own experiences In I purchased my present property on tingle St At that time I se cured from the town clerk of that era a booklet that desig nated Eagle St west of the old Metropolitan railway tracks as a residential area Take a look at it today there are three garages ft used car lot two stores a Hell Telephone building and howling alley Therefore it seems only fair to the writer that town council before issuing any license for Favor Holding Up
