dis cussion 22 of these volunteered the information that since read ing more good books they were reading less comic In the grade six and seven class five students formerly were regular readers after their trip with the teacher In the grade five class four students formerly were using the library and after the class attended in a group were using it This- was an experiment car ried on in this school with the cooperation of the principal and I teachers We had to discontinue this program before other schools had the same opportun ity because this surge of inter est depleted our hook stock to the point where we did not have sufficient material to supply the demand from other classes La ter when we had further new books we did the same experi ment with grades four and five from King George school and again had to discontinue the pro gram because of lack of books Now we are in the new li brary and it is beautiful but the pitiful sight is the rows and rows of empty shelves in the hoys and girls room After the official opening in the near fu ture wo shall start the story hour on Saturday mornings What shall we do for books to supply the increased demand we wouldnt know We hope to bring
