Plan Sanctuary As Project In Conservation For Schools A consenation project to es tablish a wild sanctuary in King township was approved by the teachers of the public schools the separate schools of Sacred Heart and Our Lady of Ascension Oak Ridges also the Christian school of Holland Marsh The educational scheme was presented by the public school inspector Mr Maynard when teachers met at the STORK Zephyr Farmer Injured in Haying Operations Bad Toronto Hospital Mr Dewey Graham middle- aged Zephyr farmer who suffer ed a broken back broken neck last July and has been hos pitalized since at Toronto West hospital and at Toronto last weekend was taken to Toronto General hospital with a further aggrava tion resulting from his head and neck Injuries He has been a complete paraplegic since the Occident Mr Graham was hurt during haying operations when a buck rake attachment on a tractor- loader fell upon him him against the tractor on which he was riding Mrs Graham who also suffer ed a Agriculture meeting in favor of reassessing the township caused further dis cussion at a township council meeting last Saturday Council debated the proposal for a considerable part of the regular meeting The federation had been expected to have a dele gation to request a reassess ment but failed to have repre sentation at the meeting Reeve Jack Rye and his coun cil however delved into the question while listening to Mr Arnold Roches Point representative of a firm of assessment consultants He gave council an outline of the benefits Former Cleric Of Georgina William C Evans Dies Hfs Home In Sutton A link in townships history through the past six decades William Evans the former township treas urer died suddenly at his home River St Sutton on Thursday Feb The funeral was held on Saturday from St James church and was attended by many of his business and municipal associ ates Two years ago on retiring from more than years as township treasurer he ended an Evans dynast af fairs for he had succeeded his father in that responsible post Combined the service of the Evans had totalled over years and it was marked by a banquet and presentation Mr Evans died quietly in his sleep at Pay Township Fox Bounty To Local Residents Only Foxhunters from Toronto Newmarket and some adjacent areas not be able to collect a S3 bounty from East township in future as council by resolution at the Feb- meeting last Saturday de cided that only township resi dents may qualify for the bounty Councillors had noted that were many nonresidents collecting the S3 bounty out of a total payments made at the current meeting Reeve John Rye commented that virtually all the nearby townships had ceased paying a bounty and wondered if any thing would he done toward a proposed County of York bonus for foxkilling Deputyreeve Longford cave his opinion that ratepayers in the farm areas woulc be up in arms at the idea of abolish ing the bounty as the residents want foxkilling encouraged Some of the local boys say they would go out and hunt them for the hunt fun If only the out- side hunters werent getting in the hunting There seems a definite need for keeping them down remarked Reeve Rye as he
