ft i EVERY DAY RELIGION The tides come twice a day as the sea responds to Natures law but they come only once a week in Gods harbor of the sanctuary They rise on Sunday but ebb on Monday and are down and out all the week Men Write over their store doors Business is business and over the church door Religion is religion- and they say to reli gion Never come in here and to business Never go in there Let us never have secular things in the pulpit would rather have repose and sedatives and healing balm We have enough of probes and knives and lancets in the week Here let us have poetry we want to sing hymns and sing of heaven Gods law is not allowed to go into the week If the merchant spies it in the store he tosses it over the coun ter If it is found in the street the multitudes pelt it with stones as if it were a wild animal es caped from a menagerie crying Back with you you have es caped from Sunday God save us from sentimental- ism True religion belongs to every day It should affect every step of our lives If it were pos sible the Christian should be more saintly throughout the week than even in church on Sunday Chairman of Ontario Hydro Robert Saunders visited the Holland Marsh erection of new homes bonfires or some improvised incinerators are used repeatedly to dispose of scrap lumber In haste or one- track concern to clean up the untidy mess everything en masse is thrown administration is too indifferent to provide facili ties so that scrap material can be placed where those needing it have access to it this correspond ent is prepared to provide the towns local paper
