club Newmar ket were three local women- In a salute to women who work the three speakers Mrs Eton Armstrong Mrs Nelson Ion and Miss Iilliaa Thomas spoke on their respective fields of inter est women in rural life jour nalism and the nursing profes sion The meeting was held in the King George hotel and was pre sided over by Miss Margaret Ward In charge of the program was Miss Nora Mcintosh who in Fifth The group was formed under the leadership of Sheldon Wal ker Sharon chairman of the York County farm radio forum The topic discussed by all farm forums on Monday night was the Department of Agriculture Representative and the Farmer The new forum agreed that the local Ag Rep offers ready help towards crop improvement care of land and livestock The help that is most needed from representative now Is in leader ship among young farmers it was agreed The Ag Rep could reach more people if he were invited to attend at least one meeting of each forum in the county It would stimulate more interest among forum members Hope on the Fifth decided The next meeting of the group will be held at the home of William Smith The Newmarket East forum sees how the farmer is helped by the Ag Rep through soil testing at the local office Cul ture for hay seeds bulletins and blueprints of mimeograph ing machines and advice on farm practices are provided The rep resentative also helps council on Oct the garbage tenders were opened and the tender of Miller to collect from the whole area as described in the summer contract for the sum of per cottage or dwelling and for commercial
