how much more true it is today Let the stand ard of Gospel Truth fall and all our liberty light and loveliness will bo submerged under an op pressors heel Here are Daniel Websters words If religious books are not widely circulated among the masses in this country I do not know what is to become of us as a nation The thought is one to cause solemn reflection on the part of every patriot and truth is not diffused error will be If God and His Word are not known and received the devil and his works will gain the as cendancy If the evangelical volume does not reach every hamlet the pages of a corrupt and licenti ous literature will If the pover of the Gospel is not felt throughout the length and breadth of the land anarchy and misrule degradation and misery corruption and darkness will reign without mitigation or end This is one reason why we have such a column that the Word of Truth might be given out to you STORE IS THE WORKING MANS FRIEND Honor Red Cross Members For Outstanding there cannot be a weak link There must always be enough workers enough equip ment and enough money to keep the Red Cross on the job and to keep it strong Far from resting from their labors now that the flood re lief emergency in Europe is over Red Cross womens work groups will have to vork as hard as ever to meet Canadas quota of needed textiles for the rehab ilitation program Canada has organization In the first nine months of there were in Canada 13 were major disasters The Red Cross assisted persons and families The Red Crass operates Outpost Hospitals and Nursing Stations in Ontario In one year Outpost nurses in hospitals clinics and schools ministered to more than men women and children Again this worthy contribution to the life of the Canadian frontier was made by your support of your Notional Red Cross There are some that never end I refer to the war against suffering against disease and against misfortune And that war must never stop It is the war of mercy if I may call it that which the Red Cross and its army of more than a million f Canadian members continues to wage day in and day out at home and abroad Among the serious problems which the world faces today is the fact that there are over million refugees in the world And while the ultimate solution of their problem is a political one their plight must touch the conscience of Red Cross devot ed as it is to the promotion of health and mitigation of suffer ing It is important that Red Cross be strong and remain strong to meet our obligations national and international rziLU INSURANCE ars VAIN TV worker in fact it sounds sarcastic We factory workers spend al most all our earnings here in town I work out of town and bring the money here to spend on rent hydro water etc Are we culprits Doesnt the town appreciate our help Did you ever look around for more parking space What about filling more space on Tim othy St East What about the south extremity of Main St Cant the town touch that S Timothy St Editors Note It is possible that the writer interpreted sar casm because the word- cul prits was used No sarcasm was intended against the fac tory workers In fact we were pointing out that the factory worker has a case We said in effect one could argue both ways on subsidized parking The taxpayers could be paying for municipal parking lots for people who shop in the stores or make business calls and or people who need a place to park their cars while they are at work Both groups are Important to Newmarket j GET A TRACT Ot A BOY CAN DO A MANS WORK AND CHIAP TO BUN USIPUL ROUND
