tsp salt cinnamon cloves I mace lbs currants lbs raisins Yi lb dates fine citron peel cut fine 4 lb almonds blanched and silvered cup grape juice Yi cup strong coffee ounces chocolate Yi cup strawberry jam Cream butler add brown sugar and cream well Add eggs tvo at a time and beat in at this time two tablespoons of flour to prevent curdling Sift flour spices and salt Sprinkle fruit and nuts with some of the flour Melt chocolate add coffee jam and grape juice with fruit and remainder of flour Smooth top of cake and dampen with cold water to form a shiny glace Bake in two large pans
