Pte. Laverne Gamble wounded but is Remaining on Duty

Mrs. Laverne Gamble, 12 Queen St. (Nee Madeline Cotey) has received an official telegram to the effect that her husband, Pte. Laverne Gamble was wounded in action in France on Aug. 28th, but is “remaining on duty.”


Pte. Gamble, who before enlisting was employed with Boxall & Matthie, Hardware Merchants, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gamble, Cambridge St. S. He received his basic training in Kingston, Three Rivers, Peterborough, and Camp Borden and went overseas with the 48th Highlanders of Toronto, with whom he serviced in France on the day he was wounded.
