Forced down at sea gets back for party Lindsay, May 17 (Special) – Flt. Lieut. Gordon Frederick of Lindsay has had many adventures with the famous City of Edmonton Squadron overseas but his record is topped with his latest achievement of being forced down in the channel and being rescued after taking to the plane lifeboat in time to join the squadron’s celebration over their 100th victory.
The young air officer was home in Lindsay on furlough a few months ago, recuperating from severe burns he received when the plane of which he was a crew member crashed in England coming home from a bombing raid badly riddled by anti-aircraft fire.
