had pleuri sy and pneumonia so you I have a bit of an excuse am in a Canadian Convalescent Hospit al I came here Aug I wrote you when I was in Con valescent Camp in Franco a few days after I was put in a Hospital with pneumonia I was not so very sick though I had about pints of fluid or bad blood taken from base of my left lung That was tho last Friday in July I arrived in England on the 1st Of Well I will always remem ber English Nurses and Doc tors for way they cared for me If I had been a baby I could not have been taken better care of My mail has been following me up pretty good I got the you sent me when I was in the Hos pital in Franco I also got a couple of boxes you sent mo one with cigarettes and I forget what was in the other I also got boxes Aunt Ida and Aunt mclio sent me I will write to them as soon as I can We are having line weather over here just now I met a fellow today that worked In the Spe cialty His name is McAllen Father you know him Ho has been wounded twice and has a piece of shrapnel in his lung and they are afraid lo take it out but he looks pretty good I also met young of the Bait I saw him in a Hospital at Bou logne where I bad to stay over night
