L.A.C. Joseph Day who is taking a pilot’s course has been transferred to Manitoba. He is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Day.

F/O Joseph Laverne Day, age 22 years, only son of Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Day of Haliburton, enlisted at Toronto, 31 July 1942,
He was granted a month’s leave and reported back to Manning Depot, Toronto, where he took his basic training.

He went to Quebec City, Victoriaville (Quebec), and Cap de la Madeleine (Quebec). From there to Souris (Manitoba) where he received his wings and commission in August 1943. He took a special Navigator’s course at Summerside, P.E.I. going overseas in February 1944, where he has since been promoted to the rank of F/O.
